Jon has spent his career resolving intricate legal challenges faced by businesses of all sizes. He brings a wealth of litigation experience to the table along with training under some of the greatest trial lawyers of our time. He has handled disputes ranging from contract claims, professional negligence, fraud, employment, government investigations, and corporate governance issues. 

 

He focuses on aggressive, economic, and efficient dispute resolution and advises his clients on early case-assessment helping them navigate the issues. He has extensive experience negotiating solutions through both direct engagement and alternative dispute resolution such as mediation and arbitration.  When necessary, he can litigate and advocate for his clients through zealous motion and trial practice to achieve the best possible outcome for his clients.

Representative Matters

Financial Services, Real Estate and Business Disputes

  • Represented Barclays in defending against a $12 billion lawsuit stemming from its acquisition of Lehman Brothers, following Lehman's Bankruptcy

  • Represented Wachovia in defending its sale to Wells Fargo after Citi sued to enjoin the transaction

  • Oversaw numerous litigations stemming from real estate commission claims including enforcing commission agreements, violations of tenant representation agreements, and claims based on the theory of procuring cause

  • Represented several Madoff investment funds in obtaining recovery from the Trustee appointed to unwind Madoff's Ponzi Scheme

  • Represented issuers of mortgage-backed securities in allegations of securities fraud

  • Defended and prosecuted many contractual claims based on services and outsourcing contracts

  • Represented companies in defending against wrongful death and personal injury claims

Employment

  • Defended against several multi-million dollar claims brought by former and current employees and executives based on allegations of age and gender, discrimination, sexual harassment and assault, hostile work environment

  • Represented employee in lawsuit involving wage claims

  • Defended claims brought by state unemployment agency based on misclassification of independent contractors

  • Defended against multiple EEOC charges - including through mediation and ADR

  • Investigated many allegations of employee malfeasance, poor judgment, and violations of corporate policy

Internal and Government Investigations

  • Represented a multi-national corporation in investigation stemming from government inquiry into allegations of violations of the False Claims Act

  • Ran internal investigation into root-cause analysis and mitigation of failure of company to perform statutorily required inspections across multiple jurisdictions

  • Conducted investigations into alleged kick-back schemes and violations of corporate policy
